Meet Beau

Beau James is a color specialist and cutter who's honed his craft for two decades. His signature aesthetic is hair that looks natural - but elevated. It's hair that will make other women wonder, "Is she one of god's favorites?" 

Specializing in California coastal blonde, lived-in LA bronde, and dimensional luxury color, Beau is known for giving his clients a fully custom color experience that fulfills their hair dreams and fits their lifestyles. 

Some of his signature colorist techniques include balayage, combining teasylights with babylights, and incorporating his client’s natural color as a lowlight to create ultra soft, highly dimensional hair. Beau's clients often only need to come in for touch-up appointments every four to six months, rather than monthly.  

Every successful appointment begins with an in-person, 20-minute consultation to discuss your personal hair goals so Beau can develop a tailored plan for your hair.

Beau started his career with a three-year apprenticeship with esteemed hair educator and stylist Shannon Rha. He went on to The Powder Room in Silverlake, where he built a successful clientele and became the lead colorist and salon manager/educator. For the past decade, he's been the co-founder of Sam Kelley salon in West Hollywood. 

Beau continues to train in emerging trends and techniques, guaranteeing that his clients always receive the best of the best. Highlights include studying at the Wella Color Academy, Vidal Sassoon, Bumble & Bumble, and Redken. He's also certified in The Hair Shop's hand-tied extension method. Beau and his color expertise have been featured in magazines such as Darling and Hellogiggles.

When he isn't behind the chair, Beau can be found at the gym, reading thrillers, hiking with his dog babies, or watching the latest serial killer doc with his husband Denis.
